EN 41
I had never been among these people which are afraid of missing an appointment, who look out of billboards to be ensured that a flash strike wouldn’t mess up their plans — or a passager accident, or even a bomb attack.
I wasn’t like them, yet I liked them.
I enjoyed guessing their thoughts just by observing what they were looking at. I was able to know where they were going by examining their movements, what they liked and their social class by reading the cover of the newspaper they brought.
I could have stayed for hours to scrutinize them, statue among ants.
